The Thing Remastered has become Big Hit

Nightdive Studios’ The Thing: Remastered is the best-selling launch game ever. The Thing: Remastered is already a tremendous hit and has exceeded expectations. Even though Nightdive is renowned for producing high-quality remasters, we have already seen Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered.

The Thing was a direct sequel to the 1982 movie when it was first published in 2002, which was rare at the time because most video game adaptations were based on movie franchises. The third-person horror-themed PS2 game sold over a million copies in its day and was regarded as one of the scariest games of its time. The Thing’s remaster was revealed last year, and on December 5, 2024, the Atari subsidiary Nightdive Studios eventually published the game.

A recent business report from Atari revealed some interesting facts that The Thing: Remastered has become fast fast-selling game for Nightdive studios. Atari noted that the game was highly received by both critics and players, even though no official sales figures were disclosed. The enhancements made by Nightdive Studios in The Thing: Remastered, which go much beyond simple graphics enhancements, are probably responsible for some of the release’s success.

To make the experience less annoying, the planned “burst-out” scenes in the original game when people had to get infected were eliminated. However, in order to maintain the same difficulty levels, the creators made select NPCs more likely to become infected, making the system infection more equitable overall.

The Thing Remastered has become Big hit

For fans of Nightdive Studios, the success of The Thing: Remastered is great news since it suggests that additional remasters of classic games may be forthcoming. Some of the greatest recent game remasters, including System Shock: Enhanced Edition, Doom + Doom 2, Quake, and others, have been created by Nightdive Studios since 2014. The firm has also recently launched projects like the System Shock remake and Doom 2: Legacy of Rust, a two-chapter extension with new foes and weaponry for die-hard FP fans.

Although it’s too soon to tell what Nightdive Studios is working on right now, there are many games that deserve the same kind of attention that Nightdive Studios gave The Thing: Remastered. Fans of classic games should thus keep an eye out for future releases, which should be just as well-executed as the studio’s most recent remake.
