Rebellion Developments, the company behind Sniper Elite, created Atomfall, a post-nuclear survival action game with a great deal of customization options. Your experience is greatly influenced by feeling about and seeing what occurs, in part because there aren’t any conventional objectives or leads to investigate.
“We took the creative pillars we were aiming for and just ran with them, so there’s some experimental stuff you wouldn’t try elsewhere because you can’t guarantee a result,” Fisher said in an interview with VideoGamer, explaining that Rebellion is using Atomfall to experiment with some concepts that they wouldn’t have otherwise tried in other games.
Fisher isn’t even positive that the experiments will work out. Atomfall has some insane options. The enemy population in the game environment can be greatly impacted by certain actions that the player can either initiate or entirely overlook. It may or may not work. I am excited to learn more.
This includes secret events that have the potential to significantly change the condition of the world, and Rebellion is unsure of how players will react to these imaginative decisions, Fisher said. “The number of enemies in the game environment can be greatly impacted by actions that the player can either initiate or entirely overlook. It may or may not work. I am eager to learn the answer.
In the same chat, Fisher did share some slightly more difficult information about Atomfall, saying that Rebellion wanted players “to feel more like a detective and [have] more of a sense of open freedom” and that Atomfall was intended to be a more difficult “high-intensity experience” by default. It also stated that the quest design would not be overt in its instructions. Atomfall will be available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC on March 27. Check out this trailer that describes the opponents, environment, and gameplay.
