Every year, The Last of Us creator, Naughty Dog, surprises fans with new content to keep the franchise alive and create hype around it. The event was a little more exciting last year, with a Steam Deck animation, some new souvenirs, and—most importantly—the first teaser trailer for season two of HBO’s The Last of Us.
However, this year Naughty Dog showed us a new easter egg that was in front of gamers, but we didn’t notice. The Last of Us Part I’s main menu has an Easter egg, which was added in September of last year. Despite its subtlety, it demonstrates the level of attention that Naughty Dog puts into their games.
Simply said, players may now manually alter the lighting on the main menu, and even though many players are unaware of this in-game secret, it is simple to use. By default, the main menu features an iconic window, which everyone sees, the vine, and sunset-like lighting.
However, the lights will alter to appear much earlier in the day when a certain code is entered. Clever fans will also note that those who used the menu to switch to the Left Behind DLC have previously seen this particular Easter egg. Down, Down, Up, Up, Left, Down, Right, and Triangle on the console, and just E on the PC are the button combinations.
Don’t worry, gamers; this feature doesn’t affect your game; it just adds a different experience at the start of the game. A lot of fans liked this new easter egg and many gamers are delighted and asking for more alternative menus in the future.
This is good news for Naughty Dog, by seeing this kind of response they might work on the menu in the future or the last of us part 3 might get this feature by default. If you want to play last of us on PC then you can go to Steam to buy.
