In 2021, GTA: The Trilogy: The Definitive Edition was released to a great deal of criticism. It was far from the final version of these games, with frightening models, weird, AI-upscaled graphics, and even new flaws. However, after four years, fans are attempting to clean up the damage that was left by Grove Street Games.
According to the description on the mod website, “This mod is not just another conversion of the city, but a complete transfer of all missions from the original game” “The official remaster uses the Unreal Engine for rendering, but the game’s physics engine is still RenderWare, released more than 20 years ago, with outdated mechanics and animations.”
The Mod was launched on January 25, and the team celebrated by releasing a brand-new teaser that showcased their updated, modern version of Vice City.
Rockstar taking Mods down
Mods are frequently taken down by Rockstar. After discussions with the developer, the much awaited Liberty City Preservation Project—which aimed to include the map from Grand Theft Auto 4 into Grand Theft Auto 5—was removed just five days ago.
In addition to the original games being delisted prior to the release of the Definitive Edition trilogy, a number of its most well-liked modifications were also removed, making room for the official remasters.
Few people anticipate this mod lasting long because it copies not just Vice City’s map but the whole city. Some fans are advising others to download and archive the mod before the inevitable occurs, while others are pleading with Rockstar to ignore it. Still others think it’s “going straight to a locker underwater.”
